When I became engaged in 2015, I couldn't find a single invitation design that truly felt like me. My fiancé said, “You know how to design. Why don't you create your own?” So I did, and holding that finished suite in my hands changed everything.
I realized many brides were experiencing the same quiet frustration, searching for something that felt just right for such an important day. That realization is what led me to create Pretty Petal Papers.
Having been a bride myself, I know wedding planning can feel elaborate, expensive, and time-consuming. My deepest desire is to take some of that weight off your shoulders. Whether you fall in love with something from our collection or want a completely custom design created just for you, I will design a suite that feels beautifully yours.

I have spent my entire career studying how beautiful things become meaningful when every detail is thoughtfully considered.
I graduated from Central Michigan University in 2006 with a degree in Apparel Design and Merchandising, then spent the next thirteen years in the apparel and textile industry refining an attentive eye for color theory, material quality, visual composition, and the subtle relationship between design and emotion. That foundation continues to shape how I approach every stationery suite, not only how it appears, but how it feels when held in your hands.
Since founding Pretty Petal Papers, I have had the privilege of designing timeless wedding invitations and bespoke day of stationery for hundreds of couples, from intimate celebrations in Michigan to destination weddings in Spain, Italy, Colorado, and beyond.
What excites us most about this work is not simply the paper or the printing techniques, though we appreciate both deeply. It is the moment a couple opens their invitations for the first time and pauses in quiet amazement. It is the message that arrives after delivery saying, “I didn’t know it could look like this.” It is knowing that something we created will be framed, carefully kept, and treasured for years to come.

No two suites are ever the same.
We do not work from templates, and we never reproduce a design we have created before. This is a signature detail for our custom, boutique studio process. Every Pretty Petal Papers suite is thoughtfully designed from the beginning, shaped by your aesthetic, your story and taste, and the atmosphere of your celebration alone.

You do not need to arrive with a vision, only your love story.
Many of our couples begin the process with a sense of what they want their wedding to feel like, but without the design language to fully express it. That is where we come in. Sharon has a gift for translating feelings into visual form, taking phrases like “romantic but not fussy” or “elevated yet warm” and shaping them into something cohesive and beautifully considered. You bring the story. We bring it to life.

Our standards for quality never waver.
If something does not meet our standards, it is corrected before it ever reaches your hands. We would gladly reprint an entire batch of invitations rather than deliver work that falls short of what your celebration deserves. This is not simply a policy. It is the care we believe every couple’s story deserves.

The Experience, Thoughtfully Guided from Beginning to Completion
Step 1
Initiate Contact
Ready to begin? Complete our inquiry form and share a few details about your celebration. Tell us about your vision, the pieces you would love included in your suite, your wedding date, and anything else that feels meaningful. If you have gathered inspiration along the way, you are welcome to share a link to your Pinterest board as well. From there, we will guide the next steps.
If you prefer to begin with a conversation, you may also schedule a complimentary 20-minute phone consultation. No form is required. The intention is simply to get to know you, understand your vision, and explore how we can create something truly beautiful together.
Not sure which option to choose?
If you already have a clear sense of what you would like and are hoping to receive a quote, the inquiry form is the best place to start. If your ideas are still taking shape and you would prefer to talk them through first, the consultation is a wonderful beginning. Both paths lead to the same thoughtfully guided process.
Step 2
The Consultation
Once you have completed the inquiry form, you will have the option to schedule your complimentary 20-minute phone consultation with Sharon. This is where the design process truly begins.
During this conversation, we will explore your vision in greater detail, discussing your aesthetic preferences, must-have elements, color palette, guest count, and the feeling you hope your guests experience the moment they open your invitation.
Every detail is welcomed into the conversation. Sharon’s role is to listen carefully, offer thoughtful guidance, and gather the insight needed to design a stationery suite that reflects you and your partner beautifully, while creating a memorable first impression for your guests.
Step 3
Booking
Once you have reviewed and accepted your custom proposal and contract, a 25% deposit officially secures your place in our design calendar and allows the creative process to begin.
From this moment forward, Sharon becomes your designer. We gather the initial design details that will guide the wedding stationery direction, including Pinterest boards, Instagram saves, inspiration imagery, and any references that reflect the aesthetic you envision for your celebration.
With these details in place, the creative process begins to take shape.
Step 4
The Design Process
This is where your vision begins to take form on paper.
Sharon begins creating your custom watercolor artwork, sketches, and design concepts, each thoughtfully developed around the aesthetic and atmosphere of your celebration. You will receive an initial proof to review, and from there we refine, adjust, and carefully perfect each element together.
The process continues until every detail feels beautifully aligned and the design reflects your celebration exactly as you imagined.
Step 5
Printing & Assembly
Once you have approved the final design, production begins.
Each element is produced with exceptional care. Ribbons are tied by hand. Wax seals are carefully crafted. Every piece is assembled with the kind of attention that transforms a beautiful design into something truly remarkable to hold and experience.
Step 6
The Invitations Arrive
Your invitations arrive, offering guests their first true glimpse of the celebration to come. The moment they open the envelope, they begin to experience the atmosphere you have so thoughtfully created.
It is the beginning of anticipation, the first impression of a day filled with beauty, intention, and meaningful detail. A design you will love. Moments you will remember for years to come.
